The calm before the strom

Just as years past would have it ~ The birthday weekend has arrived! My sons 8th is not just one DAY that is celebrated, he thinks it should be the weekend before and after (he's learned by example ~ I celebrate mine the whole entire month).

I woke to tiny little eyes starring at me with such excitement (so I let him out to pee - dog), my son knew "The weekend" was here and he was gonna start it as early as 5:30am. He and hubby took off for a bonding breakfast while I considered more sleep ~ considered.

Due to the change in weather, sunny skies and warmer and the fact that we were going to be spending the weekend at Great Wolfs Resort and Kings Island, I thought it would be a good idea to bring out the summers supply of shorts.

With this idea came the thought of getting self ready to wear such said shorts. This would mean mowing my legs and getting some kind of color to their transparency. Light bulb moment - hit the tanning salon.

Has anyone every really thought about this procedure? You pay good money to lay in a casket (with or without clothing - don't want to get those bikini lines) although if you have any meat to your backside, there will be all kinds of lines.

Anywho, you lather yourself up with goop, close yourself up in this cocoon and then realize you forgot the headset. Now your having to get out of contraption as all body parts stick to the glass and make this horrible suction sound, gather headset (meanwhile the light bulbs are burning and no body's home).

This last for oh say 7-10 minutes, depending on how transparent you are and then times up. This is one session. To get any kind of color you must maintain a schedule adding time to your visit at said salon for a couple of weeks.

I think I'll stick to the "Tan in a Bottle" and go for a pedicure.
