Good Mooorrrning All! With a fresh cup of coffee in tow, a hunting I shall go.
My hubby asked the dreaded question this morning before my eyes were even open and a sip of coffee had ever hit my lips "How far along are you on Christmas Shopping"? SAY WHAT!!! I love the meaning of those two words, just not in the same sentence. I recently got a jump start on that very task but was stumped on a few people. What do you get those that have everything including a new kitchen or is that including the kitchen sink? Regardless I'm at a loss.
I try and look through odd/gadget stores, going through my crafty ideas, checking online or I'll find myself people watching to see what's new and exciting. Nothings coming to mind. So this morning I'm gonna put my big girl panties on, gather up a few friends and head out.
I know there's always the fruit or meat and cheese baskets to send at the last minute (showing no thought at all on my part).
But how thrilled do you think the 82 year olds would feel about jumping out of a plane? Or the sister-in-laws taking a white water rafting trip without the rest of the family (kinda like a girls weekend away). All kidding aside - well sorta ;). My son said "Just send them a puppy Mom, everybody loves puppies"? Oh, I think my brain needs more caffeine.
Anywho ~ I am asking those who fall upon this entry for some help. I would love to hear about some of the gifts you've sent in the past or are thinking of sending this time around!
I am hoping the hump in your week is good to you. Take care and enjoy!

Everybody who knew me on aol journals Knows how much I love Fruit Cake!
Not!
Everyone tells me...No more gadgets/knick knacks....no more this...no more that.
This year, I'm picking the best picture I have of them, sending it to Kodak for a poster and framing it. Cheap, plus ego boosting. Who doesn't LOVE looking at their own face?
^i^
Christmas shopping here has become easy. We don't shop for the adults. Shelby is the only one we get stuff for. I do enjoy sending out Christmas cards to friends and family. If I was going to give a gift, it would be something I made with my own two hands, not bought. That is my suggestion. It could be homemade Christmas sugar cookies all decorated up or some other sweet treat. A home sewn Christmas Tree ornament. It doesnt have to be something expensive, just something with thought and love put into it. Thats my thoughts on gifts. :)
I am going to do a post on this really soon... I love finding the perfect gift for everyone...as I know you do too!!
Good luck today!

Good luck, Katie. Not sure about the puppies:) I write checks for the grandkids and they love it. What kid wouldn't love money to spend! The grown-ups have outgrown the gift thing looooong ago :)..........
Hi Katie, hmmm I hate trying to think what to buy people for Christmas because I so want to get it right and I want to make people smile when they open the present. Last year I bought my 20 year old step-daughter a racing car lego set - she absolutely loved and said ahhhh wicked as she opened it! She didnt expect it and she said she missed the toys that you can spend Christmas day building. She got her wish. I like unexpected things. I like book tokens - also itunes vouchers! I bought my sister-in-law a spyro graph set last year - she was made up with it! People actually miss getting stuff they got as a child! hee hee Laine xxx

I have bought only 1 gift so far..sometimes it does get overwhelming.
I have no help. I am usually wrapping by now... but I have only bought 4 things.
Many that I buy for love to read, so if I can't find a book for them, a B&N or Amazon gift card is always welcome. For a couple of people this year who have everything, we're planning on making a donation in their name to the Nature Conservancy.

Jammin to Bon Jovi ~ Runaway...glad you have that on here it's one of my favorites =)
As far as Christmas presents...on my husbands side for the nieces and nephews we give $20 each child...and on my side for the kids...I usually give them books, crafty things and just other random toys..they are all under 8yrs old...so they are easy to buy for...as far as adults...good gifts I believe are gift cards for gas, Itunes, the mall, for restaurants, grocery, drug store(we do that for grandad sometimes)..etc... Also for someone who has everything such as my grandad..we have made a care package with everything in it he uses on a daily basis or often...toothpaste, TP, papertowels, soap, dish liquid..you get the idea...he loved it...
Hope this helps some..I have 4 small gifts bought so far...it's a start....lol

I struggle with the same thing. I don't know how you feel about this...but I am big fan of the gift card....or the gift certificate for dinner, mani/pedi, massages,,,,etc. Not the most thoughtful...but always a good gift!
Oy, I feel for ya sista! I usually ask the kids to make a list. With everyone else in the family we play White Elephant, so all I have to do is buy for the kids. Oh but I always get my parents something, that is when it gets hard. Good luck! De ;)
My Aunt just told me today that she's done Christmas shopping! I haven't even started! LOL
Oh no the C word already. Dang only two months away. Be berry berry quiet and send a puppy. Have a happy tomorrow. : )
Why thank you for you kind comment!
I'll be sure to come back when I have more time to read up!!
Christmas? Already? Hmmm...
Ok, so I am one of those people, the ones that wait until Dec. and run around mindlessly looking for just the right thing and think to myself that NEXT year, I will start shopping in July for the upcoming Christmas.
Good luck in finding those perfect gifts, finding unusual and unique is hard even in July~~

Ditto to what Kelly said... I like gifts that have a personal touch. They have to connect with who the person is & likes. This doesn't mean you have to spend a lot of money on that person. It just means you have to do your homework to watch that person very closely, so don't wait until December to watch them!!! LOL
Oh this is easy. Time. (your time, just for them),A handmade gift certificate, for say, a date to go out for coffee, or their favorite batch of cookies-baked just for them, a trip to a museum. Make a memory! Easy to wrap!

It is so hard to choose gifts for some I agree Katie.I usually book for the ones I am stuck on to go to a show they would like and wrap the tickets.Personlised photo items are always appreciated .Coasters for example which we rest our coffee cups on.I have had them made for lots and they have been delighted. From a picture I have had of them.Loved reading your posting I will catch up on you after my break.Thanx a million for visiting me.I do appreciate it very much.Take Care God Bless Kath

As we are on a tight budget, I love giving homemade gifts. I'll mix up some flavored coffee, add a jar of my homemade jam and maybe some of my candy or cookies. This year I'm adding a Sand Painting done by my 4 year old.
You mix sand, white glue and paint together. It makes really neat textured paintings and she loves doing it. I'm gonna get some small pieces of wood, put hangers on the back and let her make bunches of them, so she can give her own gifts.
