Note to Self...

Hidy Ho There Good Neighbor. I am hoping all is well.

Many times during the day I find myself saying "Self, don't do this or don't do that". Well this morning I found myself saying it once again. "Self, why did you have to piss off the coffee pot. Not a good thing!

I usually set up the coffeemaker the night before because I love the smell of fresh brewed coffee first thing in the morning - Oh yum! But this morning I woke up before the sun actually did to a coffee pot with an attitude.

Last night when I went to do what I normally do I looked at the coffee pot and thought "When was the last time you actually had a bath"? (Same look I give my son after a hard day at play). So into a hot bubble bath it went while I ran vinegar and water through the machine - X2.

She looked so clean and pretty. You could actually see right through her (maybe that's the reason for the attitude). Around 5:OOam I think (really couldn't see what time it was because Well... it was 5:OOam I'm thinking) I hear this horrible moaning sound, like someone was in excruciating pain.

First thought "Hubby". Nope not unless you can be in that much pain and still be snoring. So I leaped out of bed, well you know what I mean and went to check on my son - Wasn't him - he was drooling. So I stubble around for my glasses thinking it's got to be the dog. Nope, found him on his back with all fours up in the air.

So I stood there for a minute wondering what in the world is making that noise and where is it coming from. Aaahhhh Hhhaaaaaa. It was her!

I've never in my lifetime heard an appliance put up such a fuss just to make a simple pot of coffee - It sounded as though it was giving birth and not only that, taking it's time in doing so.

My old friend used to make a pot of delicious coffee in about 10 minutes. This morning it took her 25. And I am sorry to say, it was the worst cup of Java I had ever had. Tim Horton's help me out here.

So, I guess the moral of this story would be - Self, if something is not broken LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE!

I hope your day was full of delicious fresh brewed coffee and many reasons to smile. Take care and have a wonderful TODAY!

Strange you should write about a coffee pot!! I just recently RETIRED mine & don't want another. Maybe I'll just write a follow-up to your entry here and tell you why :).......alice

Time for her to move off to join the big percolator in the sky.
We actually keep a spare in the cupboard-I've had a coffeemaker die in the middle of the first pot of the day!
25 minutes? Gimme a Bunn!

Oh No! A coffee pot with an attitude would be an emergency run to an all-night walmart! so..is there a new coffee maker in your future?

Your blog is so pretty. Thanks for stopping by I Have Tea. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Mine keeps blinking for me to clean it. I did, with the vinegar and such, but it still says I need to clean it. I just ignore it now, I did all I could for it. It makes good coffee, and in light of your story, I think I will leave well enough alone. ;) Hugs, Kelly
